55 year old female with several month history of painful ulcers in the vestibule and buccal mucosa. Patient denies any significant medical history.

  • Chronic granulomatous disease

Clinical Features
  • Affect any portion of the GI tract
  • When fully developed, CD is characterized by skip lesions
    • sharp demarcation of diseased bowel segments from adjacent uninvolved bowel
  • Non-caseating granuloma in 40%-60% of cases
    • The absence of granulomas does not preclude a diagnosis of CD
  • Fissuring with formation of fistula
